Restore / Reburbishment
A refurbishment and restoration of this 1880s church. The work involved insulating, felting, and slating the main roof, as well as installing new aluminum gutters and downpipes. The project included complete lime repointing and stonework repairs, storm glazing, and stripping back internal walls, which were then finished with traditional lime plaster. Repairs were also made to the stained glass windows.
The existing pitch pine ceiling, trusses, and gallery rails were cleaned and decorated. The restoration included refurbishing the existing internal doors and pews, introducing a new sanctuary layout, and constructing a new reconciliation room and baptismal font. Floor tiling throughout was completed by Armatile, along with a comprehensive mechanical and electrical fit-out.
We have found McGuigan Builders to be very professional, thorough and most reliable. Our experience of the company is that they pride themselves on doing a high calibre job, and will not turn a blind eye to something if they feels it needs to be attended to.
